This house was built for the Head Signalman in 1897 at a cost of £450.00. The house and the lookout were designed by Huckson and Hutchinson, the consulting engineers, Architects, and Appraisers for the Marine Board from 1894 to 1939. Some of their works are still visible along Sullivans Cove, such as the Elizabeth St Pier.
